The way to a man's heart...

...is through his stomach. As the old proverb goes. Which is completely true and accurate, except for one minor detail; it's a way to anyone's heart. Since it's the season of overpriced flowers and forced kindness I thought I would mention an example of true love with deeply rooted care for each other.

For Valentine's I want to share a recipe inspired by a really lovely lady I met in Ireland. It's a romantic tale of an overseas student who meets a local lad and they fall in love, get married in her home country and then she stays in Ireland to be with her husband. Once she knows his favourite food is pie, she will cook this on a regular basis for him. Shopping for the best organic chicken breast meat and lovingly preparing it for dinner... yes, she really did do this, no kidding! If that's not true love, then you tell me what is.

This is my version of chicken pie recipe and is dedicated to Ksenia. I hope I've done it justice and that you will be able to please your significant other with some hot and hearty meal.

You can serve this with a salad, for a healthier, lighter option. It will complement it nicely and present a nice colour contrast on the plate. Over here is my go to recipe, that on the surface may look more like a summer dish but trust me it will give you exactly the boost that you need in February.

Or you can finally accept the fact that all of your New Year's resolutions are not worth the hassle and go full on with this tasty baby potatoes side. This coupled with the chicken pie creates a perfect combination on par with bread and butter, just make sure you don't plan to go dancing for at least an hour after this dinner. Finally, let all hell break loose and just have all of the above together for the ultimate love fest meal. Followed by a decadent dessert, you will set yourself up for an evening full of love.
